Our community of members has been the foundation that’s made it possible to lift Blue Lion off the ground. Below is Part One of a two-part appreciation of our members. (You guys f**king rock!) Here’s to them and eight reasons why they’re awesome:
1. They push themselves to the limit
You got 50-60 minutes of intensity from coaches who are seriously ripped. It might be intimidating, but these men and women keep going. They don’t stop, they use every bit of motivation they can muster to finish as strong as they can. It’s impressive to watch, whether the person is a true beginner or a chiseled veteran.
2. They are a community
When push comes to shove, you’re going to want these people on your side. It’s amazing to see how much they support each other. Ranging from regular spotters, to best friends, to virtual strangers, there’s a special bond that Blue Lion Fitness members share.
3. They encourage each other
It’s not so much about competing with one another, it’s about the overall improvement of oneself and that is something that all our members understand. If you’re leading the class in reps or trailing, the rest of the class is going to be there to help you push through and encourage you to perform to the best of your abilities.
4. They are consistent
They are consistent … with variations of course, but you look at 6am on Monday, or 4:30pm on Wednesday, or noon on Friday, and you have the same group of kick ass people and they’re always more than happy to take on the erratic attendees.
5. They’re not afraid of a little pain
“No pain, no fear,” I think is one of Danny’s favorite phrases. But he’s right and our BLF members believe it wholeheartedly. Everyday they are challenging their bodies and to hell with the soreness to hell with the struggle to hell with it all, because they can work through it. It’s the attitude that Danny, Ryan, Joon, and Matt instill in our members from the second they walk through the door: if you want to show up, then show up and work.
6. Effort is sexy. Our members have a lot of effort. Do the math.
It has nothing to do with how you physically look, but the effort put forth, the sweat, and the tenacity is appealing. The fact that you are working to be a better, healthier, stronger version of yourself is admirable and it says a lot about your character.
7. They know that there is always room to improve.
From day one in these classes it’s made abundantly clear that the sky is the limit. The coaches push our members, sometimes push them to failure. Failure is a wake-up call and they know that from that failure, one can only go up.
8. They are Lionchasers
This is more than a fitness regime. This is a lifestyle. #ChaseTheLion
