Welcome to Blue Lion Fitness

We are a class-based training facility that offers one-hour, high intensity, full body workout classes. We’ve taken elements of collegiate strength and conditioning programs to develop our own unique training program for the everyday athlete. Each BLF daily workout includes elements that focus on mobility/flexibility, core strengthening, cardiovascular training, as well as plyometric and free-weight fundamental movements. 

Our coaches work hard to motivate individuals to accomplish their fitness goals, while placing importance on 
technique and proper form. 

Semi-Private Group Classes

Our one-hour group classes, offered Monday - Sunday, are comprised of four parts:
  • Warm-up:  Increase heart rate & targeted stretching
  • Core:  Abdominal & low back exercises paired with injury prevention
  • ​Strength:  Barbell & Dumbbell exercises paired with complimentary plyometric/resistance movements
  • ​MetCon:  High intensity segment with movements that increase both muscular and cardiovascular endurance
Blue Lion staff prides ourselves on being able to include athletes of any ability or background in our classes.  We review the fundamentals and proper technique of each movement and will be with you every step of the way.   Free weight experience is helpful but not required.

Personal Training

BLF offers personal training sessions for anyone who may have sports-specific goals or is more comfortable in a 1-on-1 setting. Private sessions allow individuals to work closely with our coaches which can be very helpful to those who are training for something specific or for individuals who want to get a more in-depth understanding of movement fundamentals.  

We also offer private group training for couples and family members that want to workout together. Our trainers have experience working with every level athlete at every age and are ready to start working with you today!

Our Background


In 2015, two friends, Daniel Roth and Ryan Van Bergen founded Blue Lion Fitness out of necessity for a group-based workout class that included free-weight training, but wasn’t “CrossFit®.” They identified an opportunity in the market to create an alternative training program—one designed for any level of athlete, offered fresh programming in an energy-filled environment, and focused on injury prevention. 

Although Blue Lion Fitness programming incorporates movements that are similar to CrossFit®, what separates BLF is Dan and Ryan’s unique approach to how movements are strung together and taught with precision. Programming and classes are designed to reflect a format that takes all measures to ensure movements are performed with minimal risk by incorporating proper mobility and core strengthening prior to resistance training movements.

FAQs

Do I need to be athletic to come take a BLF class?

At BLF, everyone is an athlete—but no, you do not need prior experience to come take and enjoy one of our classes! Having trained with free weights before is helpful, but not required. All movements can be modified to your specific level, so everyone is able to be part of our fitness pride!

Is Blue Lion Fitness a CrossFit® gym?

Blue Lion Fitness is NOT a Crossfit gym. We are a class-based gym the focuses on full body strength and conditioning. Although we may incorporate similar movements to that of CrossFit® into our workouts, BLF programming is all unique and original.  

Where should I park if there are no spots in the lot?

Since our lot is frequently full, additional parking can be found across S. Maple in the Kroger out lot, as well as street parking available on Winewood. Our neighbors are friendly, but please keep from parking in their lots. 

How old do you have to be to #CHASETHELION?

Anyone under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent/guardian to participate in BLF classes. Athletes younger than 14 must be accompanied in class by a parent/guardian to partake. 

Do I need anything for a BLF class?

Nope! Just yourself and some sneakers! We encourage you to bring your own water bottle and towel, due to safety concerns around COVID-19.

How do I sign up for a class in advance?

Please use the Mindbody app to view our schedule and sign up for a classes in advance.  Classes are become available to reserve your spot 72 hours prior to the scheduled start time.

What if I sign up for class in advance and don’t show?

BLF has an 8 hour cancelation window should your plans change and you are not able to come to class. Cancelation within 8 hours of class or no showing will cost you your drop-in.
